Who may use this service

• You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and use the service.
• This service is for personal, self-directed research use only. You may not use it on behalf of a client, employer, or third party in a professional or commercial capacity without express written permission.
• You may not use the service if doing so would violate applicable law in your jurisdiction.

What this service is

GermanCitizenship.tools is an independent research and document-drafting tool. It is not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or legal services within the meaning of any applicable law. It is designed to help individuals explore their own potential German citizenship and gather relevant documents for their own self-directed research.

Outputs — including eligibility roadmaps, document checklists, and archive request letters — are research aids only. They are generated from publicly available information about German nationality law and the facts you provide. Only the Bundesverwaltungsamt, a German Staatsangehörigkeitsbehörde, or a qualified attorney can make binding determinations about citizenship status.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information you provide. The quality of outputs depends entirely on the inputs you supply.
• You must review every generated output before sending it to any archive, authority, consulate, attorney, or other recipient. By downloading or copying a letter, you confirm you have reviewed it and accept responsibility for its contents.
• You must not submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information through the service.
• If your situation is complex, time-sensitive, disputed, or involves significant legal or financial consequences, you should consult a qualified attorney rather than relying solely on this tool.

Acceptable use

• You may use outputs for your own personal citizenship research and applications only.
• You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially distribute outputs generated by this service.
• You may not use automated tools, scripts, bots, or scraping techniques to access or extract data from the service.
• You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or reproduce the decision tree logic, letter templates, or other proprietary content of the service.
• You may not use the service in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

Intellectual property

The decision tree, letter templates, roadmap logic, and all other original content of this service are the intellectual property of the operator. The underlying German nationality law statutes and official archive information are public domain.

You retain ownership of the factual information you input. You grant the operator a limited license to process that information to provide the service.

Account termination

You may delete your account at any time using the 'Delete my account' option at the bottom of your profile page. This immediately purges all your stored letters and roadmaps and signs you out. To fully revoke access, also visit github.com/settings/connections/applications to remove the GitHub OAuth authorization.

The operator reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the service, or engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior, without prior notice.

Disclaimer and liability

This service is provided on an 'as is' basis. The operator makes no warranty of accuracy, completeness, fitness for purpose, or legal correctness. See the full Disclaimer page for the complete limitation of liability.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
